Newt's recent work has involved enterprise upskilling and reskilling in the finance industry.  Working with software engineers and Google Cloud engineers, Newt implemented a "learning in the workflow" solution to add context to the video learning engineers were taking.   This solution includes seeding communities of practice and designing a new collaboration platform to share knowledge.  Experienced engineers volunteered as "skill disseminators" to provide learning sessions and exploration of deeper topics in cloud technologies.
Newt graduated from an engineering college where he learned to use new technologies and industrial engineering to improve manufacturing processes.  His research work included optimizing plant and inventory logistics.  These experiences laid the foundation for him to think in "systems" and to understand the "human" and "machine" interaction.   In addition, Newt's body of work has centered on improving workflows using the best mix of technology and people.
Newt's work includes helping people transition to new technologies in the workplace but emphasizes redesigning how knowledge workers best design the experience.  Leveraging design thinking, Newt's software analysts would observe the user experience and experiment with new user interface designs and tools.  This helped employees adopt the technology quicker and improve how they service customers.
Newt also has experience implementing technologies to improve how knowledge workers work.  Leveraging the talents and higher-order thinking skills of knowledge workers, Newt's team of automation experts redesign work.  Using technologies to reduce redundant tasks, visual management, process optimization, and many other improvement strategies will increase the significant contributions of knowledge workers.
