Core to Dr. Moore's values is learning agility.   Newt is a real "life-long learner" having completed his MIT Technical Leadership program in 2020.  He also is an avid reader consuming several books a month.   Newt's past time also involves learning technology and media.   He is a seasoned photographer, videographer and sound engineer.   He loves 3d content creation where he has mastered 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4d, Houdini and many more 3d content creation tools.
Newt isn't satisfied enjoying learning by himself.  He wants to spread his enthusiasm for learning and he has been consistent in that through the years.  The following are some of his activities in the larger community.
Newt has been a long time contributor to the Executive Learning Exchange sharing his knowledge and learning know how with colleagues from over 60 corporations.  Hear and sample some of Newt's presentations here.

Newt also is active participant in the American Society of Quality.  He is learning about the latest measuring systems, lean applications and quality improvements from many of his colleagues.  Recently, with his colleague Master Black Belt colleague,  Azizeh, co-authored a publication on how to use "agile" methodology in creating online or virtual experiences for Lean Six Sigma Students.
Newt has been very involved in the Knowledge Management community.  He has visited numerous organizations to learn how knowledge professionals share knowledge.   Currently, he is learning about the knowledge technologies used by GE Research.  Newt is also building a knowledge sharing technology for engineers using MediaWiki.
Newt has supported a Chicago chapter of First Robotics.  Working with other engineers, Newt has helped with fundraising and mentoring of high school and middle school kids.
Newt has been and continues to be active in helping STEM students learn about work.   He collaborated with the College of Engineering professors to provide research partnerships.  For an urban university, he sponsored internships for computer science majors.  Projects included creating Microsoft Q&A bots and building SharePoint sites.  The focus has also been on the "inclusion" of underrepresented populations into STEM. This is an area, Newt has devoted time and effort to see improvements in opportunities.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity are very important to Newt.   Working in STEM careers and technical workforces, Newt is committed to seeing improvements in the representation of all people.
